Last Saturday our friend Brooke (fun story, Brooke is from Franklin, TN and I served in her ward and was graciously fed by her and her family frequently, she also moved to SF so now we are great real life friends!)
Anyway, it was Brooke's birthday and a party was in order, so disco skating was the obvious must!
In the city there is this huge old church that has been cleared out and converted into a rollerdisco skating rink and renamed the church of 8 wheels. We waited outside on the church steps, and as soon as the church bells rang at seven, the party began.
There is a real interesting crowd that comes out to the church of 8 wheels. There was a black gangster looking dude, the woman dressed up like wonder woman, the random middle aged looking Dads, the regulars with their own customized light up skates, the people on an awkward first dates and then of course there were us Mormons, haha.
We had a great time, the DJ even gave a shout out to Brooke for her birthday and played some song requests.
It was the most groovy 26th birthday party that I have ever been too!
Happy Birthday, Brooke!
You two are having so much fun - which is GREAT!!
