I love it when my parents come to town. Because I am the youngest in my family, I ended up being the only kid in the house for over 6 years which results in my parents being my greatest friends. I miss them a lot while living far away. I’m so glad that my parents like to travel, see news things, and most importantly eat new things, because they make their weekend visits so fun.
Here are some photos of our weekend together. We accomplished a lot and walked up sooooooo many hills. My bum was sore for days after they left.
The Mosaic Stairway in the Sunset District: A must see! It was especially pretty this time with all of the amazing succulent and plants growing along side. (This was one of the first sets of many stairs/hills we climbed.)

The Palace of Fine Arts. I have never been to Europe, but in my brain this is what it looks like. So beautiful!
The Legion of Honor. Dad loves museums, Mom and I not so much, but this one was actually pretty interesting! Plus you walk right outside the museums doors and you are on the trail to Lands End which just might be my favorite spot in the city!
We checked out the Trolley Car Museum which is amazing to see how it all works, and it's free! We hopped on a trolley car and headed down to the water. Mom made friends with the big black guy driving the trolley, unfortunately she couldn't convince him to let us keep riding after our one way $7 trip. Still so fun!
I had heard so many people say how much they love the Conservatory of Flowers in the Park, and let me just tell you..it was a major let down. The garden section of home depot had more flowers than this place! We payed $8 each to look at some dead plants and this one orchid. Don't go there.
Oh the Sutro Baths! This is a must see at Sunset. Dad had the time of his life taking pictures, and Mom and I did our best to not fall in the water. Living by the ocean is such a treat!
On Saturday, we woke up super early and headed to Carmel where we hiked the Point Lobbos trail. This was such an amazing hike along the coastline. The water is so clear and blue. We saw lots of sea lions, which are so cute and funny to me! My favorite part of the hike was China Cove, where we watched a ton of sea lions drag themselves out of the water to take a nap on the beach. We could have spent all day watching them and taking in that view!
That evening we drove to Monterey to the Aquarium. The only aquarium I have been to is in Utah and I was on an awkward blind date, so my expectations for this aquarium were low. I surprisingly loved it! My favorite was watching the sharks and jellyfish. God was very creative with his animals!
On the drive back to SF, Miles we were cruising down the highway when I saw a sign that said, "Garlic World" I told Miles to hurry and pull off. Then my Dad said, "No seriously, pull off!" It felt like we were in need for speed as Miles swerved across lanes to get us to Garlic World. Of course it was closed! Lucky for us, there are multiple stores called Garlic World in Gilroy which is apparently the garlic capitol of the world. We got some garlic flavored pickles that will leave you stinkin for days. Just my kind of treat!
Not pictured: ALL THE AMAZING FOOD WE ATE. Seriously, SF has the best food around.
Then we came home and watched general conference. Could you ask for a better weekend? I think not.
